Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmins frustration exposed after hard work with Layton
Strictly’s Layton Williams addresses ‘unfair’ trained dancer backlash
Nikita Kuzmin’s Strictly Come Dancing journey with Layton Williams hasn’t always been plain sailing, it has been suggested.
The dancing duo has stood out in this year’s series with their impressive moves on the dance floor, which has led to consecutive high scores each week so far.
After their latest performance, the pair hugged as Layton hailed Nikita as the “best teacher ever” and joked he had “finally” listened to him.
Analysing the pair’s progress so far, body language expert Darren Stanton believes there has been some “frustrations” along the way.
On behalf of Betfair Slots, he said: “We’ve seen Layton develop in his levels of maturity and confidence when putting his trust in Nikita.

“He’s really come far and turned a corner, and that’s due to Nikita’s belief in what Layton can achieve if he works hard as a team with him.
“A few weeks ago, I did see Nikita flashing signals of frustration, so although it may be hard work at this stage for the two of them, it’s clear they have passion and really care for one another.”
Darren claimed that Nikita’s actions also suggest he is “an emotional person” who wants to do what’s best for the pair.
Layton is no stranger to performing in front of a live audience having been in the West End for 16 years, but according to Darren, nerves have been getting to him.
He continued: “I have seen flashes of fear when he is dancing or rehearsing. I think he focuses on impressing the judges, and making it through to the next week, rather than concentrating on the bigger picture and homing in the nervousness.”

Darren went on to say he doesn’t believe the pair will go further than the semi-final.
Layton hasn’t had an easy ride since signing up for the BBC competition, due to his past dance experience.
Amongst his critics, the West End performer was slammed by EastEnders star Michelle Collins who recently said having him on the show wasn’t fair.
After he and Nikita topped the leaderboard with their very impressive Quickstep, the actress wrote: “Sorry but he is a professional dancer it’s not fair! I love him but he’s great already.”
Many were quick to defend Layton pointing out that he isn’t the only contestant to be from a dance background, with the likes of Amanda Abbington, Nigel Harman and Angela Rippon also having history.
Speaking of claims he is at an advantage, he told press: “Of course, there’s going to be moments that will feel more comfortable being in the rehearsal room and use and dancing and stuff like that.
“However, I can’t stress enough how different [it is]. It’s like a plumber trying to be an electrician.
“I don’t even know what them two things are, but it’s just not the same.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
