Strictlys Annabel Croft confirms shell miss major tennis event in tour update
Strictly: Annabel Croft talks about her late husband
Annabel Croft has given Strictly fans a tour update, as she has now ruled out attending a major tennis event. The former tennis ace revealed on Thursday night that she won’t be covering next month’s Australian Open as she has in previous years because she’ll be “dancing”.
The sports event, which takes place January 14-28 in Melbourne Australia, clashes with Strictly’s 2024 UK tour, which kicks off on January 19 in Birmingham and wraps up on February 11 in London.
Annabel, who was booted from this year’s show last weekend, took to Instagram to do a casual Q&A session with her 70,100 followers.
Alongside a snap of her at last year’s Australian Open, she included a comment that read: “Are you heading to Australia for the open?” Annabel replied: “Sadly for the first time I won’t be going. I’ll be too busy dancing.”
Names announced for the tour so far are former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, legendary broadcaster Angela Rippon and Bad Education actor Layton Williams. Also joining them are Annabel, EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier, presenter Angela Scanlon and journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

Annabel was the tenth celebrity to be eliminated from the 2023 series. Last night, she and partner Johannes Radebe performed the Salsa and Viennese Waltz to attempt to secure a place in the final.
Unfortunately for the couple, they landed themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.
Throughout the competition, Annabel has been highly praised for her growth and how much her dancing has improved.
Discussing her time on the show, Annabel said: “It’s been the most life-changing and extraordinary experience of my life. I have to congratulate Bobby and Dianne and all the contestants that took part in it.
