I had my eyebrows microbladed & it was a huge fail – not only have I got caterpillar brows but I can barely open my lids | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed that she had her eyebrows microbladed, but it was a massive fail.

The mum-of-three, Marla Childs-Zittlau revealed that she didn’t have a patch test prior to the cosmetic treatment and not only was she left with caterpillar eyebrows but she could barely open her eyes too.

Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing, but unlike traditional tattoos, which use a tattoo gun, microblading uses a blade-shaped tool with a row of tiny, barely visible needles to create hair-like strokes along your brows while depositing pigment into your skin.

Sharing her microblading blunder on social media, Marla filmed herself, with her hand covering her eyebrows, as she explained: “This is the first time I've ever had my eyebrows microbladed please tell me it wont stay like this.

“So here is day two of having my eyebrows microbladed.

“Somebody really needs to tell me if this is normal, because I really don't think it is.”

Marla then removed her hand, showing off her “caterpillar brows”, as she asked: “What did I do?”

The beauty fan then claimed: “I can barely open my eyes. Help!”

Marla also asked social media users to “please pray for the brows” as she reflected that as a result of her “swelling eyelids”, she is “s*****d.”

Marla later confirmed that she did not have a patch test before getting her eyebrows microbladed.

She then added: “I went to the clinic and got antibiotics and an antihistamine so I’ll see what tomorrow brings.”

Marla’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @marlachildszittlau, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 762,200 views in just three days.

Social media users were stunned at Marla’s reaction, which many thought was an allergic reaction, as many took to the comments to share their thoughts and advice.

One person said: “Not. Get yourself to a doctor. You need antihistamines, at least, and they’re not microblading. They’re way over worked too.”

Another added: “As a brow artist – this is not a normal reaction.”

A third commented: “You're having an allergic reaction. I had the same. Take an antihistamine.”

Whilst someone else advised: “Get to [a] doctor asap!!!”

At the same time, a beauty fan claimed: “I just got my eyebrows microbladed, this is not normal, they look infected.”

The NHS advise: “Possible risks of permanent make-up are: disappointing results; infection; a skin reaction, such as swelling, cracking, peeling or blistering; granulomas – tiny lumps that form under the skin around the pigment; scarring, or overgrowths of scar tissue; an allergic reaction to the pigment.”

The NHS explained that if you have microblading, you should have a patch test first, and should then look out for problems with healing or skin pigmentation changes after the appointment.

If you have any symptoms or complications that require medical attention, it is best to go back to the practitioner who treated you.
