Toon glee or not Toon glee for Bard
Newcastle have reportedly joined Chelsea on the race for Manchester United's brilliantly-named nemesis.
Roony Bardghji, 17, stunned the Red Devils in the Champions League on Wednesday night with his dramatic 87th-minute winner for Copenhagen.
That prompted superb chants of "Roony, Roony" from the home fans in a cheeky dig at United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney.
But the strike sensation was already gaining plenty of interest – and not just because he is a Football Manager wonderkid.
Chelsea were linked with the exciting winger back in 2021 – as were Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax.

'Ten Hag under 50 times more pressure than me'
Luton boss Rob Edwards has enormous “empathy” for under-fire United boss Erik Ten Hag – even though he could be the one that ends his reign.
The Hatters have NEVER won at Old Trafford, losing all their 16 visits there since January 1938.
Imagine what panic might occur in the Red Devils boardroom if lowly Luton grab all three points in a historic win tomorrow afternoon just before a two-week international break.
It might end up forcing the Glazer family to make a snap decision and potentially remove the Dutchman.
Ex-Wales defender Edwards, 40, said: “I have a lot of empathy for anyone in this role. I can only imagine that the pressure on him at that football club is 10, 20, 30, 50 fold from what I feel now.
“In this role, the magnitude of what goes on outside, people looking in, everyone has an opinion, especially at that club.
“I have a lot of respect for him and the job he has done, winning a trophy last season, getting into the Champions League.
“They are in a difficult moment now. He has the quality of players and staff to be able to turn it around – hopefully it is not on Saturday.”

Will Martial replace Marko?
Anthony Martial could be set for Inter Milan – to replace Marko Arnautovic.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the Manchester United striker is on Inter's list as they seek a new striker.
Ex-West Ham frontman Arnautovic, 34, is currently on loan at the San Siro for the season from Bologna.
And Martial might even be targeted as early as January, rather than the summer transfer window.

Blow to Prem giants as Evan signs long Brighton deal
Much-wanted striker Evan Ferguson has signed a new six-year contract with Brighton.
Manchester United were among Prem giants linked with the £100million-rated Republic of Ireland star, 19.
But it's understood Ferguson told Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi in the summer he was happy to maintain his progress on the south coast rather than move on.
Now the former Bohemians kid, already capped nine times, is under contract at the Amex until 2029.
His wages are likely to have risen significantly from £20,000 a week.

Mehd in waiting
United could launch a cut-price bid for 31-year-old Porto striker Mehdi Taremi.
That's the claim tonight as boss Erik ten Hag assesses his under-performing attack-line.
Summer buy Rasmus Hojlund netted twice in midweek but Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been erratic this term.
One report in Spain suggests 72-cap Iranian Taremi could be a January target.
He arrived in Europe at Rio Ave in 2019 before switching to fellow Portuguese club Porto the following year.

Varane 'pondering future'
Raphael Varane is reportedly questioning his United future.

But it's claimed tonight the ex-Real Madrid star is unhappy that 35-year-old free transfer signing Evans has started ahead of him in three of the past five games.

'Sack Ten Hag – bring in De Zerbi'
United have been urged to sack boss Erik ten Hag and appoint Brighton chief Roberto De Zerbi.
Ex-Liverpool and England striker Stan Collymore believes Ten Hag lacks the "personality" needed for the Prem giants – whereas "beast" De Zerbi would "ship out the deadwood".
Collymore told caughtoffside: "Whenever I look at Ten Hag on the sidelines, he just doesn’t fill me with confidence. It’s quite the opposite actually – he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights, especially whenever United fall behind.
“I know the club try not to sack their managers during a season but he has got to go. If the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe decide to stick with Ten Hag for the time being, fine, but come the end of the season they must do everything in their power to get Roberto De Zerbi.
"Let De Zerbi come in and ship out all the deadwood. He’s a beast, he wouldn’t mess around.
“He would almost certainly get the best out of their underperforming squad. He can mould a team to play the ‘Manchester United way’.
“It’s really simple for me – Ten Hag should get sacked, and if Manchester United are serious about changing to this coaching philosophy and having a proper managerial presence around the place then De Zerbi is their man.”

Times change for Richardson
Ex-Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson looks unrecognisable following his retirement from the beautiful game.

Up next for United
Here's the schedule for Erik ten Hag's Red Devils following Wednesday's controversial 4-3 loss at FC Copenhagen.
United host lowly Luton in the Prem tomorrow before the international break.

Emery claims Utd still better bet than Villa
Unai Emery refuses to accept Aston Villa are contenders for a Champions' League place – despite sitting fifth in the table.
Villa are currently holding down a potential qualifying spot.
Yet despite being three places and four points better off than eighth placed Manchester United – and five places and seven points clear of Chelsea – Emery says the struggling giants are a better bet than his Villa to end the season in the top five!
Despite winning 22 of the 36 Premier games he has taken charge of, Emery said: “Still Manchester United and Chelsea are more contenders than us to be in the top four, top five, top seven.
"We are trying to get there but we are not a contender.
"Now we are fifth, yes that's very good. But we are not really feeling like we are a contender for the top seven.
“We can dream and we can try to go match to match thinking to improve and thinking about finishing fifth.
"All we can do is work every day to try and achieve our dreams.”

How much Sir Jim will pump in
Sir Jim Ratcliffe will inject £245million into United from his own personal funds before the end of the year.
However, it is believed a much bigger investment is needed to improve United's Carrington training ground as well as funding the academy and men's and women's first-teams.
Ratcliffe is expected to invest £1.6billion into the club on top of the £1.4billion he paid for his 35 per cent stake.
Ratcliffe's main bidding rival, Sheikh Jassim, was only prepared to invest £1.4billion into the team and its infrastructure according to Caught Offside.
Sheikh Jassim withdrew from the bidding process after being unable to agree a fee for the club with the Glazers.
The Qatar-based banker was only willing to buy a 100 per cent stake in the club.
Jassim was also unwilling to outline to the Glazers how much he would invest in the club's infrastructure after the takeover as he did not deem it relevant to the process.

Ratcliffe to 'invest more than Sheikh would have'
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to invest MORE money in Manchester United than his bidding rival Sheikh Jassim would have, according to reports.
And that's despite Ratcliffe only purchasing a 25 per cent stake in the club.
Despite only making a minority investment, Ratcliffe is expected to be given the reins to control the footballing direction at the club.
The takeover could be announced as early as next week but is unlikely to be announced on Monday due to the focus on Sir Bobby Charlton's funeral.
Caught Offside report that Ratcliffe's INEOS will form a committee overseeing the sporting direction of the club alongside Joel Glazer.
While Ratcliffe will want a hands-on role, CEO of INEOS Sport Jean-Claude Blanc will have a key role alongside Sir Dave Brailsford.
The committee is expected to appoint a new sporting director.

Inter linked with Martial
Inter Milan are on the hunt for a forward and are eyeing up Manchester United outcast Anthony Martial, a report claims.
After eight years at the Red Devils, the Frenchman seems to be in his final stages at Old Trafford and he could be sold on a free transfer in January.
Martial, 27, has been struggling for game time this term having only played 220 minutes in the league.
With hopes of landing a place in the French squad for Euro 2024 he will need to secure more appearances.
And a move to Serie A side Inter Milan could do the trick.
According to Calciomercato, Inter are ready to make a move on the forward as they aim to replace Marko Arnautovic.
