Escape to the Chateaus Angel Adoree insists she has no regrets over show ending

Escape to the Chateau’s Dick on reaction to series ending

After eight years and nine seasons, the popular Channel 4 show came to a close at the end of last year. Since then, the broadcaster has revealed it has completely cut ties with Escape to the Chateau’s Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree.

However, the couple have insisted they’d always planned to leave the popular show to focus on raising their children Dorothy and Arthur. In a recent interview, Dick and Angel have insisted they have no regrets over their decision.

Angel commented: “We’ve not done anything that we didn’t think was right in the long run. I think that is the key part to it,” she told HELLO!

Dick agreed as he touched on their transition away from the series. He added: “The first year was the hardest, but we couldn’t have done it any differently. I was working away a lot, and Angela had to run the renovations.

“It was a very different year because I needed to get the income to get us started and jump-start everything,” Despite the show coming to an end, the couple are still hard at work as Dick went on to reveal the duo have a plan in the works for the barns next year.

In May this year, Dick and Angel came under fire after concerns were raised over their conduct to the production team on the show.

It comes after leaked recordings heard Angel launch into a furious foul-mouthed tirade at the crew as she blasted them as “c***s”.

However, in a statement from the duo shortly after the audio clips were released, they insisted there were “two sides to every story”.

Dick and Angel appeared on the Lorraine show in October where they touched on their decision not to get involved in the backlash.

They highlighted once again that it was their decision as a family to end the show before any controversy arised.

Dick said: “When people started talking about the end of what we were doing, it wasn’t news, it was something that happened a long time in the past.

“We made the decision just not to get involved in any of the conversations because…”

Angel then cut in to reference the saying associated with Queen Elizabeth II, never complain and never explain.

“She said: “I think that was just the best way, for us, none of it made sense because we had made that family decision a long time ago. It was the right time that Escape had come to its natural end.”

The series had kept audiences entertained from when it first aired back in 2016 as people watched the duo transform their Château de la Motte Husson in Pays de la Loire into their dream forever home.

Despite the Channel 4 show ending, fans are still able to keep up to date with the Chateau renovations in their podcast, Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau.
