Strictlys Nikita Kanda pays emotional tribute to mother with dance routine
Nikita Kanda Says Her Dance On Saturday Is Dedicated To Her Mother
BBC Asian Network radio presenter Nikita Kanda discussed her upcoming routine with her dance partner Gorka Marquez when she appeared on Strictly: It Takes Two this week.
It had been revealed that the pair will dance to Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce for her second dance.
However, speaking in the new interview, Nikita said she is dedicating the performance to her own mum.
All fifteen celebrities and their professional partners will be taking to the iconic ballroom on Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Although, they will have to fight for a place in the competition because one couple will be voted off on Sunday.

Nikita outlined: “I’m dedicating this one to my mum because she is like the single woman in my life, she brought me and my sister up on her own.”
She told host Janette Manrara: “So this one is going out to all the single parents out there that has done everything for their kids and I feel like this is like the perfect tribute to my mum.”
“What a lovely sentiment,” Janette replied, while Gorka added: “All the strong women – yes to strong women and men.”
When asked how she would channel “Queen B” herself with the dance, Nikita explained: “I feel like I’ve got to bring out my inner Sasha Fierce. I feel like whenever you listen to a diva like Beyonce you’ve just to bring it. It just comes out.”

The radio presenter is also keen to embrace her own independence while dancing to the hit song.
When describing Beyonce she affirmed: “She is so sassy, she’s got the attitude, she’s an independent woman, that’s what I feel like I am – independent woman.”
She also pointed out that her dance is not just for all the single parents out there but women more generally. “It’s for the girls and I’m a proper girls’ girl. This one is all about the ladies this week.”
Nikita and Gorka came fourteenth on the leaderboard last Saturday night with 18 points out of 40 after they performed a Waltz to Whitney Houston’s Run To You.
Fans will need to tune in to see how they fare with their Beyonce-inspired Charleston this Saturday night.
Sunday also marks the return of the results show where the bottom two celebrities will have to face one another in the dance-off.
The judge’s scores over the last two weeks will be combined with viewer votes to determine who will face one another before the judges have the final say on who stays and who leaves.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs weeknights on BBC Two.
