Sunday Brunch: Wild online reaction to Tim Lovejoy's jacket

Sunday Brunch attracted a lot of attention on social media this morning, but it wasn’t the guests who were the talking point but rather host Tim Lovejoy’s jacket.

The presenter was wearing a very unusual charcoal blazer that appeared to have the seams on the outside giving an “inside out” effect.

It also had two large white pockets that contrasted with the dark fabric and a white panel across the top of the back of the creation.

Viewers couldn’t believe their eyes when they tuned in and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to query his fashion choices.

Alluding to Tim’s sports presenter past @doyley14 said: “A ’90s-inspired jacket that no-one in the ’90s would ever had considered wearing. Red card, Tim #sundaybrunch.” (sic)’’

@Rise_and_grind7 chimed in: “So Tim’s jacket is inspired by someone wearing there jacket inside out..looks s**** #sundaybrunch.” (sic)

Someone with the handle @ralphdans quipped: “#sundaybrunch @timlovejoy @SundayBrunchC4 Tim seriously enjoying the convict/road sweeper outfit… Hopefully someone is slipping you a few quid to wear it..” (sic)

@Tongueflicker queried: “#SundayBrunch  @sundaybrunch Is Tim advertising some young designer?” (sic)

@Itt39354118  was confused writing: “Im trying to figure out tims jacket #SundayBrunch.” (sic)

Meanwhile, @heycitizen simply said: “What the hell has #timlovejoy got on? #sundaybrunch.” (sic)

However, a user calling themselves @SpiritWalkTalk thought that they had figured out the garment.

“Oh okay, now I see the top back shoulders have the white patch thing going on I kind of understand the design but at first glance. Sheesh Tim…you and your mind games #sundaybrunch.” (sic)

Tim’s outfit wasn’t the only thing generating comments as the fact that guest Holly Johnson was wearing a suit didn’t go unnoticed. the Relax and Two Tribes hitmaker was wearing a striking yellow and black striped suit as he made his debut on the show. However, one fan felt that there was a more appropriate outfit he should have worn.

@rossthe45king said: “Disappointed Holly Johnson isn’t wearing blue jeans or chinos. #Sundaybrunch” (sic) in reference to the lyrics of Holly’s hit record Americanos.
