Angry bloke ‘beheaded his wife because she was late making his cup of tea’

An angry man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he allegedly beheaded his wife with a sword – following an argument over a cuppa.

The suspect, identified by local news outlets only as Dharamveer, is believed to have launched the attack after his spouse Sundari was late to bring him a cup of tea. The fatal assault in the couple's home in Faljagadh, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh near Delhi, also saw Dharamveer stab the 50-year-old repeatedly.

Dharamveer, who works as a vegetable seller, allegedly knifed the woman 15 times with the sword before cutting off her head after the pair got into a row over the man's brew. Local media reported Dharamveer became enraged at how long he had to wait for the hot beverage before picking a fight with his wife.

Fellow villagers also overheard the cries and ran to the property. However by the time they arrived they found Sundari already dead and lying in a pool of blood.
