Gaynor Lord missing: Woman 'seen removing her coat and performing a yoga pose' witness reveals in search for missing mum | The Sun

A WITNESS has told cops searching for Gaynor Lord that they saw a woman removing her coat and performing a yoga pose on the day the mum vanished.

The 55-year-old was last seen early on Friday afternoon, and police have been desperately hunting to find her ever since.

Cops have said they believe Gaynor “most likely” entered the River Wensum in Norwich.

Mystery surrounds the mum's disappearance after her belongings were found scattered in different locations around the city centre park.

Her white work shirt, yellow tank top, and jewellery were found spread out – and her olive-coloured coat was found in the water.

A witness has now come forward and said they believe they saw a woman matching the mum-of-three's description on the afternoon she disappeared.

Norwich Evening News reported an onlooker saw "someone who could have been Gaynor at 4pm in the park".

It added: "The witness said the woman removed her coat and performed a yoga pose."

Rosie Richards, who lives near the park, said she believes she saw Gaynor, too.

She told the BBC: "It's really upsetting… I'm just thinking of her friends and family, because she is a sort of similar age to my mum and that would be awful to be going through what they are going through right now."

Gaynor's family put out a desperate plea yesterday – five days into the search for the mum.

Her daughter Alexandra posted on Facebook: “Please share, if anyone knows anything please do contact the police.

“We want her home.”

Gaynor, who has blonde shoulder-length hair in a bob, is described as white and 5ft 6 inches tall.

She was last seen walking along London Street in Norwich around 2.45pm on Friday – after leaving her job at Jarrold's department store about 15 minutes prior.

In the hours that followed her belongings were found, seeing police launch an urgent search.

Norwich Constabulary declared Gaynor missing after they found her ID inside a handbag – and learned she'd failed to return home from work that evening.

Police divers, assisted by fire crews and the coastguard, were yesterday seen scouring the nearby River Wensum using sonar equipment to examine the water.

Officers have also used drones and foot searches in the hunt for further clues.

Supt Wes Hornigold said yesterday afternoon: "Gaynor left work early and didn’t take her normal route home.

"We haven’t been able to establish why she left early and her disappearance is out of character so we are naturally concerned for her welfare.

“There’s no evidence that Gaynor has come to harm and while we have a number of inquiries ongoing, given where her clothing was found and other items, there is a real possibility she has entered the water.

“We’ve been liaising with the National Crime Agency (NCA) who have given advice around specialist underwater dive teams and we’re seeking assistance from forces with this capability.
