Meghan adds her signature to veterans tribute wall inches above fan’s giant Diana message as she wows crowd on busy day at Invictus Games

On day six of the Invictus Games, Meghan Markle adds her signature to a huge tribute wall filled with names – she chooses to place hers directly above a giant ‘Diana’ message.

The Duchesses’ well known ‘M’ is written very near where a fan has already written the name of the late Princess of Wales. 

In the early days of her acting career, Meghan earned extra money by doing calligraphy – this is evident by the flare used to write her swirly ‘M’ today. 

The wall appears to be packed with colourful signatures, well-wishes and notes of encouragement from those attending and participating in the competition. 

One reads: ‘Bonne chance’ meaning ‘good luck’ in French – while another says: ‘We can’t wait to host you all in 2025!’ 

Earlier today, Meghan and Harry attended a reception thrown by the Canadian delegation to promote the 2025 Invictus Games that will feature winter sports for the first time.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chatted with members of the committee that will be organising the games to be held in Vancouver.

The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have pledged to spend almost £20m to stage the games in February 2025. 

And for the first-time adaptive winter sports including alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and curling will be included in the programme of weeklong events and staged in the resort of Whistler.

Officials have said the local indigenous population are being consulted over the planning of the games. 

For the reception Meghan wore a sleeveless grey dress which was one of three outfits she sported today. 

Meghan’s first look of the day was a muted outfit. She wore a matching cream playsuit from Zara and a Celine blazer as she signed her initial. 

Her final look which she wore to the volleyball final was a flowing navy shirt dress.

The multiple outfit changes could be because it was a special day – the Duke’s 39th birthday. 

After it was announced it was Harry’s birthday during a sitting volleyball match, the crowd sang Happy Birthday in English and German.

Harry clapped along and smiled next to the Duchess – before he mouthed ‘thank you’ to the spectators. 

He was ushered on to the court where he fist bumped the games mascot called Teddy before a cake featuring a miniature figure with ginger hair.

Harry was later presented with a birthday cake by the Mayor of Dusseldorf, Dr Stephen Keller. The cake was in the colours of the Invictus Games with the words: ‘Happy Birthday Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex.’ 

Last night the couple celebrated with bratwurst sausages, wiener schnitzels and beers in a traditional German bar. 

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a night out in Dusseldorf with friends as the Invictus Games draws to a close.

Bar staff said the royals were ‘lovely’ and left a ‘big tip’ as they enjoyed plates piled high with red cabbage and mashed potato. While Harry celebrated with six half-pints, his wife stuck to just one small drink.
