Paracetamol by Darnitsa has become a leader of the Ukrainian market, says Dmytro Shymkiv

World sales of the fever medicine paracetamol hit record highs amid the Covid -19 pandemic. The World Health Organization has concluded that this medicine turned out to be one of the most effective means for combating fever, including the one caused by coronavirus infection.

In Ukraine, the top sales of paracetamol was headed by a drug produced by the pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa”. Dmytro Shymkiv, the chairman of the Board of Directors of Darnitsa, shared the research results by Proxima Research. According to the results for three quarters of 2021, in real terms, the share of Darnitsa’s paracetamol in the mono-drug market was more than 71%, and in monetary terms – 72.4%. Thus, “Paracetamol-Darnitsa” has become a leader among competitors.

The sociological survey conducted by Darnitsa together with the Gradus company has confirmed this result. The target audience of the survey was consumers aged 18 to 60, and 72% of the respondents said they regularly buy Paracetamol-Darnitsa in pharmacies. 70% of respondents also reported their readiness to recommend this drug to their friends, and 40% associate paracetamol itself with the pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa”.

Dmytro Shymkiv emphasized that in order to satisfy the increased demand for antiviral and antipyretic drugs due to the coronavirus pandemic last year Darnitsa changed the production plans. In particular, an additional production of Immustat began, and a large batch of paracetamol was produced as well.
