A DAD who has pocketed £70,000 in winnings thanks to his appearances on game shows has revealed the simple secret to his success.
Mike Stratton, from Wigan, has now penned a book explaining his tips and tricks and showing how anyone could follow in his footsteps.
The dad-of-three got the bug after he responded to a flyer looking for contestants that had been put through the letterbox of his tanning salon.
He decided to give it a go and ended up on a quiz show hosted by the late talk show host Jerry Springer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Mike ended up going home £10,000 richer.
Since then, he’s appeared on a variety of quiz shows including The Weakest Link, Bullseye, Beg, Borrow or Steal and Fear Factor.

‘Game Show Guy,’ as he’s known on social media has now written a book about his experiences called How to Get on Game Shows and Win £1000s: Confessions of a Game Show Addict.
His book contains some helpful tips for anyone else hoping to strike it lucky with their game show game show winnings.
The 55-year-old said he’s won £70,000 from game shows, which he got in both prizes and cash, and it has changed his life.
Among the things he’s splashed the cash on include laser eye surgery and IVF treatment.

The former stripper said: "I’m really good at getting on the shows.
"It’s a hobby; it’s a challenge.
"I’m loud, I’m outgoing, my talent is getting on the shows.
“They look for a certain type of person, not someone who’s going to freeze on telly and do one-word answers. They want someone who is outgoing and confident."
Although Mike has appeared on 18 game show so far he did have a word of warning that TV bosses nowadays don’t like people going on too many.
He said that when he started he was doing around three a year but nowadays people are limited to just one a year.
